ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 40W Bi-Color Portable LED Video Light
I recently spent a week putting the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 through its paces during various on-location shoots. As someone who constantly travels for work, I was particularly interested to see if such a compact 40W panel could actually hold its own against larger, heavier lighting rigs.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality of the M40 feels robust despite its lightweight 320g frame. The inclusion of the DynaVort Cooling System is a game-changer, as the gyroscope-modeled heat sink and active fans ensure the unit remains cool even when pushed to full brightness during long sessions.
Day-to-Day Experience
Using the dual-wheel interface is incredibly intuitive, allowing for smooth adjustments to brightness and color temperature on the fly. The PD fast charging support is a massive quality-of-life feature, effectively minimizing downtime between shooting setups when you are out in the field.
This light is perfect for solo run-and-gun videographers and photographers who need reliable, portable, and high-intensity illumination.
Final Thoughts
With an impressive 4.91/5 rating, the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 stands out as one of the most reliable portable lighting solutions available today. Given the $199.00 price tag, it is a smart investment for anyone looking to professionalize their mobile lighting kit.
